Subject: Blisters from running on treadmill?I've been dealing with some ITB issues the last few weeks, and to be able to run at all I've had to stick to the treadmill. I can't keep my pace slow enough on the trails to keep my knee happy. I never had any issues at all with blisters running on the trails, but since I've been forcing myself to slow down on the treadmill, I'm getting blisters on my toes. My pace before the injury was in the 8-9 minute range, but to be able to run with the ITBS I have to stick to 11-12 minute range right now. Could the blisters be caused by having to force myself to run slower than my body wants to? I kind of feel like I'm putting on the brakes while I'm running, so I wonder if that's causing my toes to rub on the front of the shoe. If that doesn't make sense, any other ideas why I'm getting blisters now when I had no problem running on the trails? One toe actually bled a little last run, but I think that may be because I'd just clipped my tonails and may have left a sharp edge somewhere. |
