great story...BUT:

I was 206 around April of this year...once I saw that I had cracked 200 I knew it was time to get back in shape.  I quickly (within 12 weeks) lost weight and got down to 179.  I fluctuate a few pounds buts thats where I'm at.

So here is my problem, although I lost 27lbs I hardly called myself obese!  I think there should be a rule for obese.  I say 300 or higher...not 200!

not quite as inspirational but in May 2008, I weighed 230 and couldn't run 2 minutes without stopping.  I did my first 5K in June, my 2nd in July, and my 3rd in August - running the enitre distance without stopping and finished in 36 minutes.  September I did my first sprint tri and finished in 1:42.09 - 3/4 of the way back in the pack.  I'm now at 195 and doing my 2nd sprint tri tomorrow morning.  I also have 2 teenagers, one full time job and one part time job.

Personally, one of the reasons I love these boards is that there's a bit of 'hero' in everyone.  Even contemplating a triathalon let alone what some people on here have acomplished is amazing.  I'm impressed daily by the stories I read here on BT.
