Subject: Accenture Chicago Triathlon ?

I already posted this in Tri talk but then realized it might be more appropriate here...

So I just got an email saying that registration for the Accenture triathlon opens tomorrow... How early do I need to sign up?  I was contemplating using that as my end of the season jump to the Oly...but I am not sure that I will be ready.  I plan on doing some 5K races, training for a September Century with my husband and doing 2-3 sprints.  I am going to sign up for the sprint for sure, but does anyone know if there is a way to move between distances at a later date?

You can make a change in your race for a $25 charge - at least this is what it was this year.

I think you need to do it within 30 days of race date. It will be in the registration info right away - it was last year.

If you are training already I would go with the Olympic distance - it is a flat course for bike & run and the swim is in the harbor.

Good Luck!

It is usually sold out and closed by April.  Just an FYI.

Not sure what price range you are looking at but the Hilton is nice (where the expo is) and I personally love the Swissotel.  It is a little bit north of the race site, but a really nice place!

Hilton is pricing around $300.00 plus 41.00 to park.  I was hoping for a deal through Accenture.  I will look at Swissotel, Thanks.

Well I registered today! I only signed up for the sprint.  I am still having a little mental block with the jump to the Oly (fine with everything but the 10K run)  and on top of that my mom may decide to do the super sprint the day before and will want me to do it with her so tri's on back to back days may be challenge enough for me.

I agree - if you have the cash the Swissotel is AWESOME.

Another great place is the Sheraton Towers just across the river from the Swissotel - also easy access to the race site.
