Anyone interested in one last OWS next weekend? Maybe anyone doing IMFL or B2B that might need to get in their wetsuit again before the race? I'm thinking Red Top since it was a great swim last time.

Saturday morning, preferably earlier so that I can run after.  Maybe 8?

I've got a full IM simulation swim scheduled for Saturday. I'll check and see if OWS is a good substitute. Definitely interested....

I can't make Saturday's swim unfortunately. Is anyone up for Sunday (19 Oct) morning on Lanier. MAP perhaps?

I'm good for Saturday at 8 AM (Red Top Mountain). I would just like to confirm. I need to do 4000+ meters. That would be a minimum of 2+ trips to the rocks and back.

Can we get a definite yes from those who plan to attend?

Hoo-ah! Oh, you wanted a yes?  Yes!

I will be swimming 1.2 and have let my friends know so that hopefully I can bring a buddy to swim my pace.

OK! Good! I will definitely see you there then. I'm sure we can work something out to get in your 1.2 without you swimming by yourself!! See ya there!

I can't confirm that I'm coming for sure, but it's on my radar.  Chicago marathon on Sunday and new job start this week means sleep might win the battle over the OWS.

Hey I would love to come, but I have to be in Decatur by 10:30 at the latest.  So if we are starting right around 8 and not lollygagging till about 9:30 before we start, that should be feasible right?  Where do you guys meet at Red Top?  I know there is that big boat ramp and parking lot on the left side of the road once you get into the park, is that about right?

Yes! We can non-lolly gag! I'll get there early since its close to my house, and in the water by 8:15 no later!

Getting to Decatur by 10:30 is totally doable.

You need to find Park Marina Road. It is pass the boat ramp. Take that to Lodge Road. There are signs. The black asphalt walk way is at the end of the parking lot. Walk down that to the stone bench by the water.

By my reckoning, its 55 miles from Red Top to I-20 on the Decatur side of town... Plan accordingly.

Yup, follow signs to The Lodge. Pay $3 for a parking pass and put it in your window. Park in the rightmost corner of the parking lot and follow the sidewalk that runs behind the lodge straight down to the water. It's directly behind the lodge and then down a small hill.

Here are some directions if you are taking 75 -

I-75 NORTH
EXIT #285 (RED TOP MOUNTAIN EXIT)
TURN RIGHT
GO ABOUT 1 MILE, CROSS OVER THE BRIDGE, ENTER THE PARK
AFTER BRIDGE GO ABOUT 6/10 MILE
TURN LEFT ON PARK MARINA RD. GO ABOUT 7/10,
TURN RIGHT AT LODGE AND RESTAURANT SIGN
THE ROAD ENDS AT THE LODGE
TURN RIGHT PARK ON THE FAR RIGHT SIDE

Are water temps cold? Do I need a wetsuit?

If you have one I would suggest it.  If not you might able to get away without one, but it will probably be kinda chilly.
