Hello fellow Pumpkins. My name is Don and I'm a running addict. I must have my daily run or I go crazy. My goal is 225 miles. It's possible I may run more, but with the holiday and a little taper for an early December half marathon that goal seems OK.

I think it's a good idea to have a plan for reaching a goal. My plan is to run every day for just over 7 miles. Some days will be more, some may be less. What's your plan for reaching your goal? If you put it out there so we all can see it, maybe we can help if you start falling behind on your plan.

To start off the month I did a 2 mile race this morning. The running club I belong to has this race on the first Saturday of each month. I finished in 13:32. After I got home I went for another run to help remove the lactic buildup from the race and then did some stretching after. That was a bit over 7 miles.

I have an XC race of ~6 miles tomorrow. Should be fun!

Hi all,

My name is Tammie(actually my real name is Tamara but I only get called that but the Bank manager and when I'm in trouble-hopefully not with the bank manager). I've just altered my plan to be swim focused cos just restarting this game I was getting too tired with 3 a weeks for all sports(apparently when you start out with this game you don't aim to win your age group in the first season-your body doesn't like it! Who knew?)

But I love to run. My plan says 4hr 40 min but I reckon it'll be closer to 8 hours. So I'm gonna say(my goodness, I do go on don't I?) about 490 minutes is my committment.

Let's have fun, Punkins.

Hmm, my plan, well, I got 5 Sundays so 5 long runs set out as follows
21km
24km
20km
23km
26km
so that is 114 km which leaves another 87km. those 87 km will be accomplished by 1 or 2 weekly lunch time runs of approximatly 10 km along with some shorter 4-6 km "recovery" runs with my wife at home after work. I am aiming to run 4-5 times a week. Unfortunatly some weeks, like this one, have more recovery runs than anything else.

125 miles is doable for me. I did 121 in August, but had a hell of a lot more bike volume accomplished that month than I plan this month.

I think I should be good.

My time is real tight with work and all, but will definitely keep my logs updated best I can and chime in here ever now and then.

Good luck everyone!!!!

8 miles for me today. Not 100 percent today, but sucked it up and plodded through to the end. Tomorrow is a day off, so here is to hoping to be gtg for Tuesday. May have some after effects still from last weeks 18.5 mile trail race.

I feel your pain Steve. Gutted out 13 miles today. The last 5 km were torture. My feet hurt, had a tight hip/groan/you name it. At least we got out there.

I think I will do a little run tommorow, depending how a feel, maybe just a recovery jog, but I got to take Tuesday off.

Sounds like a good plan. Are you training for something with all those long runs?

Hey Pumpkins, I did a 6 mile XC race today. Very hilly mostly singletrack, lots of roots, rocks, and unstable footing. I stumbled and fell off the trail into a bush a bit more than halfway through the course. I was OK, but it cost me some time. I finished in 51:19 for 5th in AG. Kinda bummed because I lost ground on the guy ahead of me in the series standings, but I'm hanging in there in 4th. The last race in the XC series is in two weeks and if I can pull off a real good run I can still overtake him for 3rd.

I ran a few more miles for recovery when I got home. 2 of my 5 races this month are now done. Next Saturday is a 4 miler. I may also be doing a hash next Sunday.

Keep running Pumpkins!

I am doing a 50-52 km race in February, the frozen 50. Did it this year at 7 hours. Would like to get under 6 this year.

Pumpkins, I managed to get in 10.57 miles today. Took it slow and easy. I was a little sore from the racing over the weekend.

Colder weather is coming here for the next few days. It's about time to break out the winter running gear.
