Pre-race routine:

late-morning race, so started the day w/ a big plate of whole grain pancakes & a banana!

Event warmup:

very short pre-race w/u to loosen the legs from a 60:00 bike ride the day before...

Comments:

rugged - hilly, but still a fast course. lost some juice in the last 1/4 mile. usually i play it safe until the end, but i started out hard at the beginning - this seemed to work in my favor overall.

the last quarter mi. were tough - physically more than mentally.
