Subject: RE: Kailua-Kona's 18-Year-Olds Complete World Championship Right now the bike is not my limiter...Swimming... my two spritn tri's this summer were bad...only on the swimming. I had a 9:14 for a 400yds and a 11:14 for a 500 yds. However, Before the tri's i took a 2 year layoff of swimming and then swam twice before my swims... 2 swims - race - 2 swims - race. Now I have already done a lot better... after 3 weeks of training I got below 2min /100. One of my workouts I swam a 20:04 1000yds and then after 250 of easy swimming a 10:06 500 yds. As in my log PR for 2112 yds is 47:16 but I'll get that down to 40 min by end of january or thats my goal. Also I did lots of riding this summer, when I was in the groove for Road racing ( 200 miles a week for 3 months of summer ). Now I wasn't Tri training for my two sprint tri just biking and hoping it was short enough distance that the swim didn't matter and I hadn't lost too much from track season even though that wasn't great. I have put in a coupla 70 mile rides and 50 miles are pieces of cake right now at Z 2. By the way.. Your exactly right my first 2 tris my legs felt dead. on the run. I ran 23 min 5k's. ........Here my almost a PR track story for the 3200m...... PR before 11min:19secs Gun goes off and then at 5 and 3/4 laps (outta 8) there is lightning and the race is called. Ok now the 4x400 goes and we win with our best guy running a low 48sec 400(just a beast) Then luckily becasue of my coach with almost all the teams gone we restart the 3200 and I get 11:19. Tied my PR. I think I would have broke 11 min if not for the hoopla. (srry no point really) Edited by xcrunner2010 2008-12-05 6:02 PM
