 Davenport, IA |  Subject: 2009 RacesOk, I'm trying to get myself psyched up for another year of racing, so I figured I'd see who I may run into at races this year. Iowa races on the schedule or that I would like to do: Peregrine Charities Olympic Waterloo, IA Two of: Pigman Sprint, Quad Cities Tri, Hy-Vee Olympic (these three are all in June with QCT & Hy-Vee on back to back weekends) I'm going to add more as dates get released. Post what races you're planning on doing. |

| New user 18 Iowa | Subject: RE: 2009 Races I am doing the Siouxperman sprint in Sioux Center in May, an Oly up in Minnesota in June, the mayor's sprint tri in Papillion NE, an Oly in Council Bluffs in August. Just found out my wife's going to have another baby so we'll see how many I get to do. |

Regular 94 Elkhorn | Subject: RE: 2009 Races Hello Iowa... No Water's Edge for me, but I do have to share a race that is AWESOME! It is not in Iowa but close. Well..maybe not for you Eastern Iowa folks. The Triple V in Yankton, SD is the best race I have done. BEAUTIFUl. You go over the lake 2x on bridges that are like 1/2m long or more. I don't really know. One of the bridges you go on is a double decker! Anyways..the course is flat and fast! Plus, if you like you can bring the family camp out, stay in a hotel like cabin within eye sight of the race starting line. August 30th this year. http://www.freewebs.com/triplevtriathlon/ My other races include: Siouxperman - 5/2/09 - my city of work. Great race, well organized Dam to Dam - end of May Considering Altoona race or Hyvee Triple V 8/30/09 LeMars Sprint -9/12/09 my hometown:-) well organized sprint at the end of the year! It will be my first attempt at that distance. I rode the bike leg last year as part of a team. When I got off the bike there was no way I would have been able to run. Hopefully that doesn't happen this year. |

Veteran 225 Mason City, IA | Subject: RE: 2009 Races Hey, glad I stumbled across this Iowa group. I am hoping to race in 2-3 Olys and 2-3 Sprints this season. My wife works every third weekend, so it makes it hard to make definite plans. Here's what I am hoping to race this summer: 5/17 - Albert Lea, Minnesota: Land Between The Lakes Triathlon - Sprint (unless it is really cold, I'm not THAT hardcore) I'd like to find something in June but so far the races that are close enough to get to the morning of the race fall on the weekends my wife works. 7/12 - Waters Edge Triathlon -Sprint Dog Days Triathlon - Sprint. (I don't see that there is a date set yet) This is a fun little reverse (run/bike/swim) tri. My oldest daughter (14) wants to do a race with me this summer and this will be a nice short starter. 8/2 - Big Creek Tri - Oly I'd like to find something late Aug - early Sept. 9/27 - Perigrine Charities - Oly Hope I have a chance to meet some of you at these races. If you're feeling saucy there is always the Pigman long course (HIM) on Aug 16 There is also the cy-man sprint on Sept 6. Same venue as big creek |

Instead of just doing my first 5K(in 16 years!) I decided to go all out!!! CRAZY! This, I think is doable,for me, however, because it is shorter than most. |
