Im Cat, Aussie, 26...signed up to cycle a little over 15 hours this month... a good increase on last month added to by the fact that I have a taper for a sprint race in the final week so I wont be able to do last minute catch up so will have to be on to it with my riding! Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Persistence Good morning team! My name's Neal. Looking forward to participating in this challenge with every one here. I think I signed up to run 50 miles this month. I'm already a little behind (0 miles so far) so this is going to be even a little more challenging for me Planning on a little run after work today although it may be more of a slide since there is an awful lot of ice still lingering on the ground from a recent storm. Good luck to all this month! |

Regular 50 | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Persistence hi team persistence
i am jacquigirl.. our team pecans lost the challenge by 1/4 mile ouch... i changed my running goal from 85 miles to 75 milesdue to a situation with my hamstring. i've included elliptical and stairmaster miles so far on the spreadsheet, hope that is okey, i truly believe this is a very temporary situation and will find that out tomorrow at lunch... okay team persisence let's hit this goal and win our challenge this month!!! |

Elite 4148 Utah | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Persistence Hi Team!!! Just found everything... kind of panicked when I didn't see the main thread stickied... My name is Heather... I work within 10 feet (if I cold walk through walls) of a cardio room (in front of desk) and weight room (behind desk)... and yet still have issues getting my wokrouts done due to workload (last place I want to be at the end of the day is the gym). I know that Jan will also be tough due to the number of days I'm on the mtn (so included them in my goals so as to not look too lazy) So far I'm 4 for 4 on the new year.... think I may go join the boys downstairs to get my weights in... afterall, they're watching the Brady Bunch |

You should be able to copy the table, and then paste it in the blog and it should show up. If you have problems, let me know! My name is Norine and I'm signed up to hit Masters swimming 12x this month, and run 50 miles. December was a LAZY month for me and I'm ready to get back on it. Of course, we're 5 days in and I have yet to swim or run, but no worries I'm sure I'll get there! |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Persistence I got out to run today and man was it ICY with a capitol I. Managed to make it about 5 miles without killing myself. And I realized my run goal for the month is 60 miles not 50. Yikes!!! I guess Slugger did tell us to make hard |

Master 1989 New Jersey | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Persistence Hi all - I see some names I recognize. I'm back for another challenge. I'm just starting up my ironman training (Lake Placid), so I'm hoping for some inspiration to keep me going. My goals were exactly what my training plan calls for. With luck, I'll be at 100% by the end. Right now, I'm being treated for a bum knee (kneecap isn't tracking properly), so for the time being, I'm "running" using the eliptical. Looking forward to the challenge. Walt

After finishing PT I've been good for just over a year. |

Now, now...Maryland is...is...um....is... ehhhh, I guess there aren't any Maryland jokes. I've had the kneecap stuff off and on for a while. It's usually when I neglect something that the problems rise. In this case, I stopped cycling and concentrated solely on running for the NYC marathon. I originally took up cycling to strengthen all those knee support muscles. What type of PT did they have you doing?

I originally took up cycling to strengthen all those knee support muscles. What type of PT did they have you doing? I imagine there are Maryland jokes (probably with Virginia) but I don't know them. I grew up in New York and had relatives in Jersey. A lot of people don't know that it's a really nice state once you get away from the crappy areas near NYC. Funny, when my knees were bothering me I was told not to do any running. SInce biking was when they hurt the most I focused on swimming. That was the period when I made the greatest gains in my swimming. They would tape my knees to pull the kneecaps into proper position and then I'd do all sorts of strengthening exercises that where designed to keep them where they needed to be. I di 2x/week PT with home exercises inbetween. |

Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Persistence Definatley the right team...Ive got runners knee...basically poor biomechanics and knee cap tracking...Intially the taping helped heaps...I now where orthotics, ice whenever I feel any weirdness, am learning to run with better biomechanics and Im just REALLY conservative with my running... (easy since Im not a fan of running!) |
