MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Hello team. For those who don't know me. Kendra - wife of one, mother of two, grandmother of 4, caretaker of two cats. Librarian, love to read. Did three sprints in 2007 and then got waylaid last year with really bad PF. I'm now back on track. Will be doing a 5K in Feb, and have signed up for two sprints so far this year. One in June the other August. Still looking for at least one more Tri, a couple of bike rides and maybe another 5 or 10 K, depending on how the feet go. So, my goals may look low, but for me they are pretty good. Let's have a great month team and kick some bootie . |

Expert 919 Greenville, SC | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Hey TEAM.... My name is Kathrin and I live in the South Carolina Upstate. I am planning on doing my first tri in May of this year. 2008 was quite a year of change for me... I got back into exercising and eating healty and dropped 66 lbs doing it... The triathlon in May is supposed to keep me on track and focused and should prevent me from packing the weight back on. Also, I will race end of this month in a 5K.... It would be great to be under 29 minutes or at least faster than my first 5K that I did in November. Oh... And also... I put together a little team table for us. Edited by ratkat 2009-01-05 8:50 AM |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Good morning team! I am Kathy and train in Rhode Island. I have not done a tri in several years and am hoping to get back at it this summer. I have always swum breaststroke but find it is bothering my knees so I am trying to learn freestyle. I have a swimming goal for the month in minutes since the distance part is not my focus yet. I am also registered for my first half marathon in February so I also have a running goal of 70 miles- the most I have ever tried by about 20 miles! This is my fourth month in a challenge and have made my goals for far...don't intend to fall off the wagon now so we will rock this challenge! |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution HI Team , my name is Paul and i live in Northern Los Angeles. I am in my fourth year of doing triathlons and think its a great way to stay fit. Mild Winter in Los Angeles make it the best time to run for me . I will be tapering for Surf City Marathon on Feb 1st and so the big challenge will be in getting my miles in at the beginning of the month . As i will taper down the run miles the last 2-3 weeks before the race.

Expert 1580 Ankeny, Iowa | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Hi Everyone, I am Stacie. Wife to Brian, mother to 2 furry dogs. I live just outside Oklahoma City. I haven't raced since the spring of 06. We moved from Alaska to OK in the fall of 06 so the 07 was getting settled and 08 was spent finishing up my Masters. Right now I don't know how to swim and I am hoping to do some 5k's this year with a 1/2 marathon hopefully in April (OKC Memorial). I am scared but I downloaded a plan so we will see how it goes. Hoping in 09 to learn to swim as well. For the spring I am going to concentrate on aiming for the 1/2 but things are in the air right now - my hubby is active duty and is right now scheduled to head to "sand land" the end of April. That might change with a new job but if it doesn't that will be the focus in the spring for me. I have my goals mapped out until the last day of April with some lesser days just in case I run behind. The last two months my challenge teams were toward the bottom for the first times since I started challenges last year. I know Resolution can change that. I look forward to a good month. |

Pro 5123 Canandaigua NY | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Hey Team!!! My name is Ken, I live in upstate New York (near Rochester) with my wife, Connie. I have a son and a daughter that are out on their own. My A race again this year is IM Lake Placid. My current training has me focusing on improving my pace for both the bike and run. As I haven't seen the ground in a couple of weeks due to all the snow, all of my biking and most of my running is inside ! I do participate in a winter race series up here though that has us racing every other Saturday from mid December till mid February. Distance varies from 5K through 8 miles. I am out of the pool for another week, but I kept my swim goal reasonable knowing this ahead of time. I love the challenges this time of year especially to help with the motivation factor! It is great to be on a team with some highly motivated folks!!! Edited by kenj 2009-01-05 11:19 AM |

Master 2201 Elgin, | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Hi Everyone, My name is Travis, I am married to Laura (runnerg1rl7) and currently stationed at Buckley AFB in Aurora CO with the Marines. I have only completed on Sprint Tri so far which was last year, but have completed multiple Half and full Marathons. I am running the RNR AZ Half Marathon on Jan 18th which will start off my 2009. I have intents on a few tri's but waiting to see if I can get a sponsorship for the Trans Rockies Trail Run which then will take to much of my time to focus on Multiple tris. This races is a 6 day 100+ mile race that is done in Teams of 2. I am looking forward to it, but still waiting on the answer from the potential sponsors. My goal this month is 12 swim sessions, since this is what I need to focus on the most. Thus far I haven't committed any time to this sport for the month but the month is still young. As a warning I am a procrastinator so feel free to call me out on commitment if needed. |

Swimming (at lunch) and ice hockey (7:15pm) so recovery day for me (from running) Hey ! Another hockey player! Although my team mates this year might question me calling myself a hockey player. I started the swim/bike/run thing because I was falling behind in hockey against the younger guys. Started enjoying the tri's, signing up for longer races, which means longer training and whammo - no desire to schlep myself out to hockey games at 10:00 at night! |

Master 2201 Elgin, | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Managed to get to the pool today. Didn't feel like getting any work done so I went swimming. It was a horrible swim, but that is one less I need for later. 2 down 10 to go. |

Hockey is Somehow i scrape some time here and there to do a sport (running) of my own this winter. And in the lulls of the hockey schedule found some local races i can partake in. So i have replaced getting home from hockey games at 1 am , I am instead getting up at 5:30 am to run mileage in 30F weather.

With midday swims its a great way to get a tan . In the morning when overnight temps drop to 40F it is chilly on the pool deck . And very foggy too. Not much in the way of mosquitoes here. Sadly there are other pests around . |
