I'm in my first year of "racing" tri's. I am orignally from central NJ but moved to Louisiana 5 years ago for college track at LSU , fell in love and now probally here forever. The Tri scene down here is starting to get more popular though.

Central NJ? Cool. Whereabouts? And what events in track? I used to be a hurdler WAY back when...

I'm training for my first Ironman - Lake Placid. So I'm trying to stick to the plan ALOT!!!!! Had some knee issues so my running is just coming back now. The problem is I'm off on a business trip where I doubt I'll be able to get any cycling in, and hoping I can find a local YMCA with a pool.

Hias all I live in the middle of nowhere, waaaaaay Northeast CA.  I first started training for Tri's 9/07 and was buisy my first year did a 5k, 10 mile, half mary, Sprint, Oly, HIM and just did my first full mary 2 weeks ago.  But its not like I turned 40 found myself 40 pounds over weight and couldn't afford a sportscar.... Er well maybe it was.

Anyway I am happily married 19 years, have 5 kids aged 17 to 3 and live so remotely that the nearest stoplight with all 3 colors is 100 miles away as is the closest winter pool.

Today's workout was 18 mile bike, 6.5 mile run and 3000 yard swim and drn it doesn't count for our team stats 8(.

Plans for this year are a 10 mile race in March, the Boise 70.3 HIM (second ever)  and the Vineman IM (first ever quiver).

Hi all!  I'm in central NJ, although probably just until the end of the school year.  We have a house in upstate NY (not far from Lake Placid) and would like to go there permanently.  So I'm training in NJ, but my first tri will in at the end of June up there.

I am brand new to tris, following BT's 20 week 2x sprint plan, and just need the motivation to stick with it.  January went pretty well, so hopefully the momentum will carry into February.

I'm married, two kids (15 and 5), two dogs.  I work full-time and also teach yoga part-time, so it's been alot to juggle to fit in training time, but so far it's working out.

Can't wait to get started.

Morning all! The first day of the challenge! This is my third season of tris and I am currently training for my first HIM. I have my first 1/2 Mary on the 22nd of this month so I have some juggling to do with the schedule.

I live about 1 hour outside of Boston, but right now I am visiting family in sunny Fla.I'm married and have 2 grown children. I am an RN and work 3-11 pm so I have plenty of time to train during the day.

Plan for this month calls for 9.5 hours of swimming 23.5 hours of biking and 12.3 hours of running. I will need motivation to stick with the plan...esp long hours on the drainer!!!

Awesome! Great first race!

Today is a tri training off day for me, but I did one of my core workouts and taught yoga this morning.  This evening I'll be overeating at a Superbowl party.  (The food is the only reason to go - I don't like football.)

Yay 60 mile bike ride in 30-37F weather... oops that was yesterday, but drn doesn't count for this month's tally.  Oh well for today I will start with a blazing rest day.   Hrm.  Oh well pick it up on Monday.

Need to take some notes, folks live near big race locations gona get lots of company come race day. Boston marathon, LP IM, anyone live in Arizona?

Mornin' Gang!!!  I've been assigned to team Edison
I wrote out a vague plan last night during the game... I'm sure my guest thought I was a little obsessed with my computer...

It's some small goals... but afterall, it's a "small" month

Welcome to the new team members!

I got in the pool this morning for the first swim of my sprint plan (12 minutes).  I'd better stick to the plan, because I won't be very happy if my arms still feel like jell-o at the end of the month.

Did everyone have a good weekend?

Yeah, that was a crazy month!   In a good way!

I had a good weekend.  Busy but good.  Things are quieter now the kids and husband are at school/work.  Silence is golden!

Off to the gym!  See ya!

Hey teammates!  Lots of new names that I haven't met before.

My plan for the month is:

250 miles bike, 65 miles run, and 20,000m swim.

Currently training for the Oceanside HIM which will be my first HIM distance race.   I started in triathlon's in July of last year.   Have completed a sprint and two olympic distance races.   Big goal for this year is IMAZ if you can't tell from my avatar

Day 1 of the February challenge, completed 32 miles biking.

Are we going to use the typical shared spreadsheet to track goals or is another format being set up?

According to a post on the main thread, spreadsheets are being set up.

Ah  a lovely day it must have hit 40 F at noon and my wife stopped by to take me out to lunch after my run.

So to get things started, early morning 17 mile bike, noon 7.6 mile run and this evening 3000 yard swim.
