Subject: RE: Canada Day Challenge - Wednesday, July 1, 2009I did the 4 km race last year. The temperature of the water was awesome. Wetsuit was optional. but I'd estimate that 95% of people had one on. The lake is really clean since there are no boats on it.
The entry fee is cheap. There are no race frills (no t-shirt, no prize money ). The MCs were funny, so I guess you could say there was entertainment. I don't remember if there was any post race food, there might have been some bananas and cookies. They did pass out water bottles at the finish line which was an awesome idea. It's a good idea to bring a snack for after.
The course is triangular. Here's a map of it (taken from one of hazmaster's posts ): The triangle is approx. 2.1 km. The race course might be slightly different.

During the race, there was a strong current on the shortest side of the triangle. So you'll want to compensate for that.
