Here is a quote from our local newspaper.....

SPRING FANS:Maybe it's because we kept hearing there might be 50,000 people at the spring game or maybe it's just because I've lived here long enough to understand what's going on in with the culture of the Gator Nation right now.

But while the announced crowd of 58,500 was amazing, it wasn't surprising to me. It apparently was to a lot of other people around the country.

Maybe this is why - Florida's spring game crowd was more than LSU, Miami, Florida State and Tennessee ... combined.

So is this because we have better and more loyal fans who show interest in our team or is it just a coincidence...oh I think not.....

Football?? What's that?

Actually, Kentucky football fans have a lot in common with Cubs fans. They fill up our 70k-seat stadium every year no matter HOW bad they stink.

Of course, a lot of them go home after the third quarter...

Our spring game is tomorrow. I'll have to see how the attendance is.

Usually in the spring we're still basking in glory licking our wounds from BASKETBALL season.

Ohio State will contend for the National Championship this year.

    Just you wait.

We will run through the Big Ten, crush Michigan in November and await our hapless victim in the Rose Bowl January 1st 2006.

sigh....yeah watching the offense the past few years along with Chris Rix (whom I refer to with great affection as "knuckles") fumbling every football within a 50 mile radius of Doak Campbell stadium, made me want to stab myself on more than one occasion.

    Ummm...OSUAlum...
STEP AWAY FROM THE CRACK PIPE!

Seriously! While I am thankful for the Buckeyes beating Michigan last year, allowing Iowa to share in the Big Ten Title, you have no chance of crushing anyone other than Michigan and probably Northwestern or Penn State.

Iowa hasn't really lost anyone from that team that went toe-to-toe with the defending National Champs in the Cap One Bowl; I think we lost like 4 out of 22 starters. Our FIVE...yes FIVE injured halfbacks should be somewhat back to strength and we have one of the top five recruiting classes in the country this year.

Kirk Ferentz is going to roll to a Big Ten Title, another Top Ten finish (his fourth in a row), and another game no earlier than January 1st. Don't be surprised to see the Hawkeyes in the Big Game in 2006!

Actually, I think South Carolina will have its share of losses this year. They have an AWESOME coach, but he's got his hands full dealilng with Holtz's messes and disciplinary adjustments.

So yeah, I think several teams will beat USC this year.

I'll agree here USC will have some troubles even with Spurrier..
So Jamie, do you know if the BCS has gone ahead and made the SEC Championship game the National Championship also? I know they've been trying to fix the mess they have now so maybe they've gone ahead and done the inevitable.

    will

lol - they've actually gotten STOOPIDER by adding a 12th regular-season game instead of, oh I don't know, using the extra game to create a championship system (I hear alla you Aubies hyperventilating over that topic).
