At about 400 some miles, my rear Mich.Pro3 suffered a slice. Is this normal considering the low mileage & that I inflated to manuf. suggested air pressure?

Correction: Not just a slice, but an "inner tube popping out" gash.

No. not normal. I'd take it back to the retailer that sold it to me.

I have had really bad "luck" with the pro race 3. I switched to continental GP4000s.

Are the Continental GP4000s the "performance-leve" equivalents to the Pro3's? In particular w/regard to rolling resistance--I've always like the smooth-rolling of the Pro2's.

(Bear, thanks for the thread referral.)

Yes, Pro3 Race tires and GP4000 tires are just about equal in performance.

More than a few people have recommended Pro3 Race tires so I'm thinking they just had a rash of bad output for a bit. I don't know that there's any way to know if the ones you get are within the flat easily window, though.
