Hi all,

This site is a GREAT resource.  Quick question, what is the standard attire for sprint triathlons for males?  Are shirts a waste of time?

Thanks!

The most common thing to wear is either a 1 or 2 piece trisuit.  If you are comfortable biking in swim jammers you could also wear those and throw on a t-shirt in T1.  I can't remember exactly, but I don't think you are required to wear anything on top, that might just be an IM thing.  So if you wanted to do the whole race in whatever you swim in you probably could.  I wear a 1 piece because it keeps my heart rate strap in place during the swim and it fit the best.

It depends on the race. Some races require a shirt of some kind and some don't. Check the rules for your race. Now if it's a really short race and you don't have to wear a shirt, I wouldn't.

if its warm enough that you dont need a wetsuit, i would just go shirtless...putting a dry shirt on a wet body can make even the smartest ppl look ignorant

If you really want a shirt, you could grab it in T2 and put it on after you start running.
