Member  603   Chicago |  Subject: Oh My God I cant get Versus!!!!!!!This is my first year actually watching the Tour and I just realized I dont have versus. I am a huge TT fan and will miss the first one and maybe more if RCN does not pull their heads out of their you know where. I find it BS that I have to pay an extra 20 bucks for a sports package for one channel. This is driving me crazy. Just thought I would share and if anybody is having the same issue, I feel for you. Member 603 Chicago | Subject: RE: Oh My God I cant get Versus!!!!!!! Well after 2 hours of trying to get a hold of somebody I finally did and I got versus and now have it on my TV. Thank god for DVR because the Tour is the only thing that will be on it. |

It took them exactly 1.73 seconds to jump on the Lance bandwagon, and what's even worse is that they are building it up to be the drama event of the season. Lance? Alberto? Levi? Sweet Mother of Mercy, I don't want to listen to this nonsense for the next 21 days! Humbug on Astana. If I really want USA representation, I can get just as much with Garmin-Slipstream, what with Danielson, Zabriske, and Vande Velde. Plus, they have Bradley Wiggins and Julian Dean, cool cats both, And Millar. And Cervelo Test Team has.....Cervelos!! Mostly, I just want the potentially great commentary to avoid the soap opera of Astana. They really ought to be above such nonsense. |

At home, Versus comes with basic cable...up here, it only comes with the cable company's (different from my home) digital plus package. My boyfriend's dad and I are COMPLETELY devastated..which is why Monday at 8:30 am..he is going to the cable company to pick up a box and we are signing up for the digital plus service for the week we are here. It will cost us about 20 bucks..but its well worth it! Versus must have paid a pretty penny to get EXCLUSIVE rights to televise the Tour. Freaking ridiculous!! |

As far as the adoration factor of the masses, yea, I know what you mean. But, a lot of it is just hype created by the networks to get more people to watch by making everything seem to be a bigger event than it really is. Versus is definitely taking the ball and running with it using the LA factor for all it's worth. 'Course, you can turn on CNN or MSNBC or just about any other news network and gag over the coverage of that guy in the oval office...and his kids...and his dog...and his wife...and his wife's clothes.... But that's for another forum. |
