Welcome to the Tour De France,

The Cervelo Test Team is a brand new team in 2009 but features some amazing riders including last years Tour De France winner Carlos Sastre and former Green jersey winner Thor Hushovd. They are supported by uber domestiques including Heinrich Haussler, Brett Lancaster (sprint lead out men), Inigo Cuesta and Jose Angel Gomez Marchante.

The team will be debuting a brand new kit in the Tour with the black and white colours on the kit Ive attached below switched... if I get a good image I will put it up here for you to use as you wish! Last news I read it was waiting on UCI approval.

Just a quick reminder that the challenge rules are posted in the original sign up thread but if there are any queries please let me know!

Also... the one rule I need to remind you about is NO posting of information from the live Tour De France in team threads until AT LEAST 24 hours after it has occurred. This is to allow people to watch repeats or time delayed coverage without having their viewing destroyed by knowing the end result!

Have a great July... no doubt I will pop in occassionally.

Thanks Kat!!

Good morning team and Happy 4th to all that are in the US!! I'm getting ready to go get my TT in after breakfast. I have company this weekend so I'll try to be present and def. active after the weekend. I'm not as chatty as some of the other folks but I'll keep up on the rides and try to talk some too.

I'll do an introduction. My name is Chris and I'm a 48yr old wife/mom and grand-mom. My Hubby and I live in Ohio and I have been doing Tri's for 4yrs. Usually the longer stuff..no IM yet though. I train mostly by myself or with my 7.5 month old,Great Pyrenees, Sam. He is featured prominently in my logs and is my Avatar. I think the bike is my favorite part of Tri's and the run is my biggest weakness. That is about all I can think of now.

So....who wants to be leader of this team???

Chris

Did my first 'stage' today....just like the tour!!!

I love the kit and might have to drop the change to get it!!!

I participated in my first BT challenge in May and the team I was on won with everybody at 100%. I participated in the run challenge in June and my team won again....I hope it is a sign for this month and the trend continues.......
I love these challenges, they keep my moving and motivated.

Hello to everyone. I'm Kathy 44 yo wife/mom from WA. Signed up for Ironman CDA next year and looking at Grand Columbian 1/2 iron this fall. Have had some medical issues this spring but am back in the game big time now! Can't wait to see how we do. Just got back from a longish ride, forgot today was a TT, did do some sprints on the flats today! Have to go read and figure out where to post mileage, etc. Here we go.

Hi Team, my name is Kim and this is my third year of tri's.  Only done sprints thus far.  Love the Tour but probably won't get to watch much. I'm traveling for work alot over the next few weeks.  Still, I have my first OLY at the end of the month and have spent very little time on the bike (the weather on the east coast has been horrid).  So, I need the motivation to not waste any opportunity to ride.

I rode 26 miles this morning, so first stage done.  Also changed my first rear flat (not mine, but my riding partner who had no tube, CO2 or clue).   Was kind of pleased with myself for figuring it out.

Hi team,

First year Tri-ing for me
First year focus on volume building and Sprint distance races (July 11th being first race Laughing)
First Challenge as well
Quickly becoming a BT addict, great motivator, helps keep me on point, fantastic source of information

I did my first stage today, indoor trainer, made easier of course by being able to watch the TDF

Look forward to this team's success in the challenge !!

Good morning Team!!

I'm ready for another day and another stage. Today stage will def be one for the Sprinters and I am hoping our man Thor will take the Stage. Carlos S. did pretty well yesterday, considering that the TT s not really one of his strengths. Well I hope everyone has a great day and if you are riding have fun and be safe.

I'm off to walk/run Sam in the rain. Then it will be time to ride. Does anyone know when the spread-sheet will be up??

What is your favourite food? BBQ
Do you have any pets or hobbies? Hunting and skiing
What is your favourite charity? Children's Cancer charities, because children are so young and innocent.
What would be your cycling tip to the average rider? Go out and have fun. Enjoy nature.
Why do you want to ride on the Cervélo TestTeam? It's a new team with a new philosophy, bringing new ideas to cycling. It's a serious team with a good clean mentality.
What is your personal cycling goal for 2009? The green jersey in the Tour, a big Classics win, and a stage win in the Giro.
What is your product development goal for 2009? To try to help all of the TestTeam partners make their products better, and give all the feedback that I can during the season. Better equipment will give me a better chance to reach my cycling goals.

What is your favourite training ride? A long ride along the coast somewhere I've never been before, with a coffee stop on the beach.
What is your all time favourite cycling moment? The Worlds in Oslo in 1993. I was 15 and I saw Armstrong win. The Norwegian placed 7th.
What is your favourite ride of all time? Christmas, 2 years ago in Norway. There was 1 meter of snow and a clear blue sky. It was perfect for riding.
What do you want to do after your career in cycling? I would like to do things that I can't right now, like alpine skiing all over the world. I'd like to spend more time with my family. I'd also like to keep some connection to the cycling industry, perhaps working with product developments.

Hi Chris - unfortunatley I cant do it... see if anyone in your team fancies having a go (there are instructions stickied atthe top of the challenge forum)

Or... if you are feeling brave... PM Dee (D001) for some help... she wrote the instructions

Can't help with the team table.  I entered my ridiculously meager goal into the sheet.  Heading out of town tonight and traveling alot all month. Hope to increase mid month but won't be entering another stage until next weekend.

Kim, Your goals are not meager! What ever you do is right for you. Any ride is worth it and makes for a stronger you.

Have fun with the traveling. BYW...what is behind or on the bike in your avatar? Just wondering.

Just hate that I'm not riding more.  Oh well.  Gotta work to afford the tri-habit. The critter on the bike is a cat. I wanted a bike pic for the challenge but didn't have any good ones of me. I found it on the web and chose it because it looks just like one my cats.  Max loved to sit next to my bike on the trainer while I rode last winter.  Never got him on the seat though.  He's a pretty good sport though....hmmmm new avatar idea?  Maybe next weekend when I get back.

Hi team!!!

So today's ride was lots of hills with a couple of really strong riders-  sprinter types - so truly in the spirit of the TdF!!!!  Apparently today's stage goes right by the house of a friend of my parents. And they are not there!!! OMG if that was my house I would SO be there!!!

I am willing to check the instructions for the spreadsheet and potentially have a go - but not until tonight - have to drive home to Boston and having dinner with an old college friend (and post college boyfriend....)

ETA - looks like the spreadsheet is pretty complete - has a place to track where we are at - what else would be needed????
