For body fat, I have seen a range of 5-12% for male triathletes and 10-15% for women.  Lower is not necessarily better in all cases.

Most competive triathletes weigh in the range of 2.2 - 2.5 pounds per inch of height. Usually closer to 2.5

2.5 seems a bit heavy. While I may be on the lighter side of things.. that would put me nearly 20 pounds lighter the a avg pro of similar height. I work out to 2.1 per inch, normally 7-9% body fat, though haven't tested since early this year.

I'm probably just a tad heavier then Alistair Brownlee.. and he doesn't seem to have any problems.

that sounds high! just did the math for myself and I'm under 2 - I've got pretty decent muscle, but some flab too. I'm sure my body fat is upwards of 20%

that 2.2 thing doesn't work for the small side! I'm 5'1" and 111 pounds.  with that formula I should be 134- 152! no way! I could stand to still lose a few!  here's a link to a really good article on xtri....  everyone is different, there's no good formula.

I'm 5'8", 200 pounds and can win my AG in the sprint distance.  Still do well in Oly.  Start to drop off in the 1/2 IM and IM. I wish it was all muscle but I am around 20% BF.

I figure I just need to work harder than the lighter people.  No excuses from me about weight affecting performance.

When I did a body fat analysis at a local university, they indicated athletic for a male was 10-12% BF.  Healthy was 12-18%.

2.5 per inch is high..   a lean 170 is a pretty big guy for only being 5'8"

2.2 sounds closer to reality.

I'm trying to get to about 2.3 per inch (155), at about 9-10% bodyfat
