Expert  1040   SF Bay Area |  Subject: I'm Useless...I've got a huge race this weekend. I've been looking forward to this for a YEAR. The past week, I've done very little work, I just can't concentrate. I'm way too old and slow to turn pro if I get fired. Any ideas? I mean, I can only check BT, ST and weather.com so many times during the course of a day. |

I know this is probably too 'serious' for this thread (because I'm guessing you weren't so much complaining about your job than trying to figure out how to create more time for tris) but in the case that you were, I think the commencement speaker at my brother's graduation hit it exactly right: "Figure out what you love to do, and find a way to get paid for it." If you truly are thinking you would love a profession in triathlons, being a pro triathlete is not the only route! I'm sure you could probably be happy in a sports-related field where you can at least think about triathlons all day! |
