Ride Description
We are doing the Roswell Ride on Tuesday 6pm leaving from the Roswell Area Park upper parking lot.  Starting at Roswell Area Park we ride through Historic Downtown Roswell.  We then take a few good hills followed by a ride down Riverside along the Chattahoochee, with alot of good hills along the way back to the finish.  See the map below for the full route and elevation profile.

A & B Group
We usually break into an A and a B group.  I lead the B group and the A group is led by whatever fast people show up.  The A group is not no drop.  If you get dropped by the A group and don't know the route, stop, consider yourself in the B group, and we will be along shortly...  Lately the A group has been doing a longer route of 25-30 miles.

Don't forget your running shoes and Taco Mac Passport!
We do a short 1.5 - 3 mile run around RAP after the ride, before heading up to Taco Mac for some well earned refreshment. We usually arrive at Taco Mac around 8:15pm and it's located at 685 Crossville Rd in Roswell, GA.

Weather Guideline
It's currently forecasted to be Partly Cloudy and 82 degrees which should make for some Excellent riding weather.

No Drop
The B group is a
No Drop ride in case any of you want to ride but are not sure of yourself.

Big Blowout Last Week
Last week Brian had his tire blow completely in half in the middle of the Roswell ride.  Jay and Brian did their best MacGyver impression with some Gu packs inside the tire to patch the gaping split that went from bead to bead.  He made it about half a mile before the tube pushed through the foil packs and blew out again.

After seeing Brian's blowout, I decided after 3,000 miles and zero flats to get new tires & tubes put on my bike by the LBS Thursday.  After getting the new tires put on, I had two rear tire flats and one front tire flat in about 35 miles in Cartersville on Sunday...  Apparently the rim strip on the inside of the tire was not positioned over all the spokes when the mechanic put the new tires on.

Let us hope that we have better tire luck this Tuesday!

Join us in the Tour de Roswell and Tivo the other Tour
I know that the Tour is just starting to get exciting and Lance has a decent deficit to overcome.  Set your Tivo on record and ride with us on Tuesday night in our own little Tour de Roswell...

Hope to see you there!
Justin

Not sure yet, hoping to make it but have a surprise birthday party I "should" attend.

Justin - what bad luck with the flats.  Did you get it all fixed again?

Karen,
Thanks for the sympathy.  I took it back the the Local Bike Shop on Sunday and they put in two new tubes, shifted the tape rim strip in the front, and put a cloth rim strip in the rear wheel.
Hopefully I'm good to go.  If not, I may be calling a friend for a car ride, after the first flat, before going through that again...

Justin

Justin had an amazingly good attitude yesterday.  I've never seen one person have three flats before.

Unfortunately I can't make it tomorrow, Kristen has to work late.  Fortunately, this gives me more time to work with Jack on riding his two wheeler sans training wheels.  We're hoping he's got it mastered by the weekend.

Jay,
That would have been one great ride on Sunday if it wasn't for those darn flats...  Just like you said on your other post, the weather and company were awesome.
Thanks for your help with the multiple tube changes and patience.  After airing up one of the blown tires, it was obvious from the leak that it was caused by the rim strip and not our tire change abilities.

Hopefully you can make the ride next week, unless you are off swimming in the lake with your other tri club.  Maybe Jack can ride with us, if everything goes ok without the training wheels...  See you at the run on Saturday.

Justin

Boo hoo - no RR for me.  I may be out running down Riverside though and if I am you guys can wave at me again as you fly by!

Justin - do tell who the LBS is.  I want to avoid them like the plague!  Hopefully you went back there and got your money back or some brand new tires for free!

That's interesting.  I had a Ford Explorer and the transmisssion went bad too.  However,  I towed a boat for about ten years and it did not have a towing package and it had 235,000 miles on it when the transmission died.  I gave them a gimme on it since I replaced it with a Mazda where the clutch went out after 45,000 miles.

And since I kind of hijacked the thread a bit.... I guess I won't make this week either.  I think I will ride Columns where it is flat because of my back and meet you guys at Taco Macs afterward.
