Well I found a 300 meter hill approximatly 5 miles from my house that I will be doing a set of 8-10 repeats on with my rest only being the time it takes to glide to the bottom....I will only be getting into zone 3 on this workout...but it will be difficult in the new handcycle because the geometry, even though its better for me is still different from my old bike and my indoor trainer.  Nothing like feeling you are going to throw up.....bring on the hill...

Good Luck!

Hills and I have a love/hate relationship. They love to make me throwup and I hate to disappoint them.

Yeah, today is just a nice consistant ride with a 80+ cadence and concentrate on not blowing getting up it.....I have had climbs where I hit 202 and popped and has nothing for the way down...cant let that happen

Ahhh ... hill repeats. I have a monster hill just outside my house - it's about 200m of almost straight up ...

I can see it from my dining room and kitchen windows, and it often mocks me.

I was so happy I did a ton of hill repeats before my last event. Nothing like knowing you can still get to the top when you are "done." I hate them, but love them...sounds like a country song. Hope you enjoy the new ride.

Someone needs to write a violent head banging song called, "what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger" just for the hills.

Being that it is a different muscle group than my last bike I am getting used to it. I would say I am where I was on the other bike with a lot more to go. This has great gearing for climbing I have a 25 small ring. so I am looking forward to a little pain....

Can I ask a stupid question? Do you use a different handcycle for the "bike" vs the "run" part of the course or do you do them both on the same bike?

Different, I have a handbike that I peddle by hand that is a 24 speed and then I have a racing shair that is in my profile pic for the run that does not have gears. It only goes as fast as I can push it..lol
