Lots of talking, taking it steady, then eight times round very fast for the sprinters.

Hey Cat, only two mountain top finishes this year. Haven't included Verbier. Your memory is better than mine. Is this normal, or are there usually more? I've watched too many Giros & Vueltas to remember.

The course this year was very tame in terms of climbs and mountains... in terms of finishes but also in terms of the challenging climbs and stages...

I would have liked a lot more difficult climbs andchallening stages... it did feel like they kept it safe.... wanted a show down on Ventoux but Contador was so far ahead.... took some of the potency out of it...

You read my mind.  Think Bertie took Ventoux easy, keeping in mind that mans 3rd place. He could have taken the Schlecks apart. Garate heh! I thought he had no hope from what he had done previously. Ex Quick Step rider too.  I did try to keep some of my picks within the QS  or ex QS riders. They just aren't set up as a Grand Tour team, especially with Tom missing/ not on form when he was there.

I think with Andy looking out for Frank and Contador for Lance too.... that kept it together perhaps more than it might have under different circumstances...

Great minds think alike huh?

I think they just said 48 riders that started the race this year were first timers... that number seems quite high... anyone know the figures for other years?

Agreed. Although glass ones on a bike would be interesting.

Hi Cat! No actual coverage for me today. I'm actually typing this in bed on my iPhone. Crashed at a friends' last night when we decided 2 was way too late to drive the hour and a half back to my in laws. Friends don't have cable anymore. oh well. Got to watch yesterday.

That makes sense...

Not much to tell yet.... going round with a break for the front... just under 50ks to go....

Hi Both.

I've made it further than I did last year

Just nicked Deb's laptop off her. Have watched since first time under the tunnel. Decided the Grand Prix would be a bit more entertaining before this kicked off.

Think Eurosport's got JV in the box. Talking about America having the best three teams in the TdF next year.
