Subject: RE: Am i Crazy? You said you did a 10 miler last night, what about your other two rides? How far were they? What about effort? Did you really push it last night and the other rides or just take it easy? Do you think you could do another 10 miler on the same course today? What's your general fitness level coming into riding? Are you a converting couch-potato or an avid swimmer/ runner coming into triathlon? The answers to these questions will give you the answer to your main question. It's doable...if you don't mind paying the price. The price? Since you've only ridden three times, you're gonna have a sore bum and possibly lower back. Depending on the route, you may have some sore legs as well. And, there's the chance of a longer ride like this causing an injury, minor or major, because you may not be as prepared as you should be. The reward? A great sense of accomplishment and an attitudnal upgrade that says, "Hey! I can do this." Ultimately, it's your decision as to how far to go and how fast to get there. These are just the factors that you'll have to use to weigh that decision. |
