Subject: Disc with magnet for odometer

So I recently got a Zipp disc and the last couple of races I havent been able to use my odometer to judge my speed because there is no spokes to place the magnet. What contraption have yall come up with to make this work? I tried to use a refridgerator magnet with some tape but it doesnt read. I really dont want to put hot glue on the disc or glue just because it would pain me to do this to a new Zipp disc. Do I need to use a special magnet for it to work? Thanks

i use a fridge magnet in the tire cutout and tape over it as there is not room to put it on the outside with my sensor.

if you have the space, put a rare earth magnet on the outside with a drop of super glue. those suckers are TINY!!!!

Why can't you put the magnet and sensor on your front wheel?

Because the sensor on the rear of the bike wouldn't pick it up

Sorry, I skipped a couple words in my answer.

Some sensors are both wheel and cadence sensors, like a Garmin. You lose cadence if you put it on the front wheel.

I placed a sticker on the disc and then hot glued the magnet to the sticker in case I ever want to take it off.

I do have a senor with a cadence meter which i also find very crucial when racing. This will only work with the back wheel. I do like the idea of maybe electical tape on the wheel with hot glue and a magenet on the the tape. Does the size of the magnet and what type count? I tried using a larger fridge magnet with tape thin tape on top of it and it just woulnt read
