Subject: Women Tri Bike Saddles - Recommendations?
I just bought a 2008 QR Kilo - had a professional fit and I like the bike. However, I am finding that after about 20 miles the seat is rubbing in all of the wrong places. The seat isn't stock but it is a tri specific saddle, relatively wide in the rear and has a very padded nose. I ride a pretty hard saddle with cut aways in anotomically appropriate places on my road bike (which is carbon so a little smoother). I find the road bike seat very comfortable. However, I don't think it would work well in the aero position on the tri bike. Does anyone have any experience with women specific tri saddles? Any recommendations? Do I just have to get used to the position? I'm hoping to get some input from people before I spend yet more money upgrading the seat. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for the link. Do you ride with this seat?

have it. Love it.

When I got my tri bike i absolutely could not ride in aero. i just could not get comfortable. i went through about 4 seats, including Adamo and could not ride in aero.thenI got the Cobb. problem solved.

Also they have a 180 day comfort guarantee. If you dont like it. send it back. their service is super.

That 180 day guarantee sounds like a very fair deal. Thanks for the tip.

Just to be a "devil's advocate" here...I also, rode the Cobb V-Flow Plus saddle for about 300 miles (maybe not enough of a test), and I could NOT wait to get that torture device off of my bike. I switched back to my Terry Butterfly Tri Gel saddle, and I'm happy for now.

What bothered me with the Cobb saddle, was primarily my sit bones. For some reason, that saddle just did not agree with my rear end. The other parts (lady parts) were fine with it, but I could not tolerate the pain I felt in my sit bones on that saddle. I don't know if it was too wide, or not wide enough...but something wasn't working there, so off it came.

I hope you have better luck with it than I did. The 180-day guarantee is awesome, though and should give you enough time to determine if it will work for you.

Ouch! I know with the seat the bike shop put on my new bike (supposed to be more comfortable than the stock seat) I can't do more than about 17 miles without experiencing pretty severe pain in areas that really shouldn't hurt that much. Sit bones are not the issue on the current seat. I definitely like the idea of a 180 day guarantee.

Any other thoughts on seats?

I'll put in a 2nd on the Terry Butterfly Tri. I could ride all day on mine and be comfortable.

Terry Butterfly on the road bike and Terry Damselfly on the tri bike.  I love them both!

I ride a Koobi Tri and love it. But it took about 10 different saddles before I found this one. I suggest trying saddles from places that give you a decent time to try them out and then will accept returns if they don't work. Terry gives a 30 day trial time. Koobi also gives 30 days. As mentioned, Cobb gives 180 days. Performance will also take returns.

I also have a Cobb saddle, but it's the Mo Flo.  I don't know if that's an early model of the same one discussed here, or a different model.  I liked it before I put aerobars on my bike, but once I went aero, I discovered the point of it.  I love it!  Lots of other body parts get tired and sore after 50 miles or so, but my rear is happy!
