Subject: Felt B12 Online?

From what I've been reading, this bike and the P2C are great options.  I was just curious why it is hard to find them on online retailer websites, ebay, etc, while I see the P2C everywhere.

I also found it impossible to buy a new Felt online.
You have to buy from a bike shop or buy used on ebay.

Also, Felts are a lot less "popular" or abundant than Cervelo. Therefore, they are harder to find.

Beware, there is someone on ebay selling knockoff frames. It says it's a Felt frame, but there is no logo or paint job on it.

Oh, and I think there's some way to find out who your nearby Felt retailer is.
For me, I called a local bike shop, and they didn't sell them, but they knew who did.

I would also attribute this problem to a poor Digital Strategy on the part of Felt!

Felt does not allow it's distributors to sell their bikes online.  They are only sold in bike shops.

You can find them on Ebay.

^ like above says, felt doesn't let their bike be sold online, for margin purposes.

Oh go buy the B12 and join the BT Felt Mafia!  It's a great bike!  I absolutely love mine!  It was love at first sight.  The thing I fell in love with was the read brake caliper.  When I saw a picture of the bike I kept looking for the rear brake caliper but there was not one.  Turns out it is hidden down low behind the crank.  That sold it for me.  I'd never seen a bike like that.

I got a used 2008 Felt DA for not much more than the B12 new.  Found someone selling it on Craigslist in Boulder and had it shipped to PA.  I was pretty much only looking at the B16 & B12, and randomly did a search for a DA, and within 2 days I owned a DA.

can't seem to find one online right now (although I'm sure I could find one after the season is over), and I'd love to have a new bike for my last 3 races!  Got a LBS to lower it to $2,450?  Pretty decent deal?  or just go with a P2c for $2,100 that I'll need race wheels for sooner than later?

Just look at the price tag on the DA's or any other bike that costs 5k plus and then $2600 doesnt look so bad anymore!!! Thats what I did!!

Like many people have said already, I got my Felt on eBay.  It's a great bike just one word of caution, make sure you sit on one at an LBS before buying it.  I bought what I thought would be the right size but it turned out to be just a tiny bit to small (56 vs 58).  My LBS made some adjustments that it fits better and it really rides great.  When I get out of school and have some money again I plan on selling this Felt and buying one that fits a bit better.  Until then though, I've put about 1000 miles on it and it feels great overall.

Ummm...you can indeed buy new Felt bikes online, you can't in the US perhaps, but I bought mine online in the UK from www.wiggle.co.uk (there are many others who sell Felt online in the UK - www.tfn.uk.com for another)

Wiggle.co.uk will also ship free worldwide with a minimum spend, the B12 would, I am sure, qualify for that, they will not charge you the price on screen as you have to deduct from that the TAX, so it will be about 15% less than you see on screen, but then you will have to pay import tax in your own country.  Wiggle will also ship and have it with you in about 5 to 7 days world wide, mine arrived 1 day after the order in the UK. you will also be charged in US$ not pounds sterling etc etc.

I assume to be honest it would be cheaper to go to a store there in the US as prices here are a bit higher here to start, but if that is not an option and you really want to go online, you could do it this way.  check them out, it may work, and I can definately recommend these guys for service, quality etc, they were great to deal with.

Another benefit to getting the Felt is not having a Cervelo.  I know they are great bikes, but everyone has one.  I have seen people tie balloons to them in big races so they know which of the ten on that rack it theirs!

All through a random search on Craigslist.  I was only searching for B12s & 16s, and just for the heck of it I put in Felt DA just to see what used DAs were.  It was a pro-triathlete's in Boulder who already has a 2009 bike and i'm not sure who sponsors him now with wheels.  i wasn't even sure if it was a good deal, so i emailed the link to JorgeM with all the info.  2008 DA, race wheels, sram force components (which i didn't know what that meant at the time ), etc etc. and got two thumbs up.  It's a sweet bike (that the bike shop was cringing when i told them i wanted to get it painted pink to chickafy it!).
