orthopedist in Durham/Chapel Hill area?

I went to Samuel T. Dyer, PA-C at the Chapel Hill North office for a hip pain once, and then later for shoulder pain. He's one of the PA's and my issues have never been escalated to the ortho doctors, thankfully. I don't know if he specifically has a running/sport focus, but he was always supportive of my athletic endeavors and never told me to stop running or swimming. I just needed PT for a while in both cases to deal with overuse injuries.

I agree with Carol about Triangle Orthopedics. My neighbor is Dr. Shep Rosenbloom with them. He has operated on both my kids. I do not know if he works over that side of town. I can ask him for a colleges name if he does not and you want a DR instead of a PA.

Good luck. I thought I'd also mention that Triangle Ortho runs a walk in clinic after hours. So, if you or your kid takes a fall and needs an xray, go there instead of the emergency room. It will save you a ton of money and time! When my daughter broke her arm a few years ago, the resulting UNC bills cost us an arm and a leg. Seriously. Hospitals are horrible with their billing practices! Next time we had a break, we just went to Triangle Ortho, and it cost just the $25 office copay. :-)
