I have been watching the Raceshots.net website for the pics of this race to show up.  After 5 days with no show, I emailed the contact at Cooper.  Here is the response:

I am embarrassed to say that they never showed up and I am just now finding out.  So that means there are no pictures from the race.  I hope this does not sway your opinions about us for any future race we may have.

I guess that's why I never saw any "professional" looking photographers out there.

RaceShots.net as far as I know.  But I'm sure they sub-contract to local photographers.

Ah, that's funny! HAHAHAHHAHAA!

Not that you didn't get photos... but that they just didn't show up. Everyone said that they didn't see any... so there ya go.

Hi there,
I actually e-mailed RaceShots the other day and this is the response that I received:

Hello,
I really wish that I had a good answer for you. There was some confusion as to whether we were serving as the official photographer for this event. I thought we weren't, but obviously we were.

I wish that I could blame someone else, but the error was mine.

I'm sorry and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Lance

My question is that if there was confusion... how in the world did the RaceShots flyer end up in our goody bags???

They're overpriced for their digital pics.  I think the last time they were at a tri I particpated in, they wanted something like $60 for the digital pics.  Ouch - I will pay $10 or so for a digital pic, but that pricing was over the top.  Brightroom was the same way.

ouch... I'm thinking a lack of communication on both sides... how could a photographer not know they just got a job??  maybe it being on saturday messed them up and they showed up on sunday

Something fishy here.  The Raceshots.net flyer was in the packet.  How could Cooper get them if they weren't provided by Raceshots?

Well, this was the first year for Cooper, last year it was done by Play Tri, so all the details were covered.

I had my waterproof camera with me during the tri.  I took about a dozen pictures before the sun came up and they all are blurry.

These are the only two that came out.

#1 KSH fixin' to start the swim.
#2 KSH swimming by.  She's faster than my camera.

When I look at the 1st pic, the 1st thing that comes to mind is...

let's bow our heads for a moment of silence.

Your arm is coming out a bit too far from the water...keep it closer, bend at the elbow....don't windmill...

*note.....what is stated above is in jest.....I am not a very technical swimmer, in fact, I'm horrible.
