What is the best method to get your workout gear to smell after washing them?

For prevention, I have a new love affair with these mesh backpacks that Wal-Mart sells for $4.
Even if I forget my gym back in the van, my clothes can air out and dry.

Mine usually smell BEFORE I was them. LOL!

I hang my stuff in my bathroom (dirty) so they dry. Then gather it all up and wash a load every few days. Make sure you don't let stuff sit sweaty and wet in a pile or gym bag... or they will take on a (midew?) smell that will not wash out. I recently went away for the weekend, leaving all my week's stinky wet clothes, unwashed in a big pile. Even after washing them, they still smelled bad. Someone told me to try Borax. I washed all that stuff twice thru using 1/2 cup of borax to the load, along with laundry soap. That seemed to work pretty well! Best thing is to avoid it by not letting it sit wet, and washing frequently!
