Subject: Running Plan? Pacing questionI'm training for my first tri (Sept 19 ), and following that up with a 1/2 Marathon (End of November ). My tri is a short sprint (300yd swim, 9.1m bike, 2m run ). I'm currently training at longer distances than the actual tri, just trying to build a good base into the offseason and for the 1/2 Marathon. As a beginner, should I be building in some race pace training, especially for the running? My long pace runs are avg around 12:00/mile (5m run this weekend ) and I want my tri race pace to be at 10:00/mi or under (if possible ). Should I be building my base for long term, or working in some tempo runs during the week at the 10:00min pace? |
