No full Ironman

I do not see that happening. First there is Wisconsin which is only 2:30 hours away from Chicago. Then they added Louisville which is only 5 hours away. On top of that Louisville did not even fill up until December last year. Also with the economy the way it is less people are willing to shell out the $550.00 price tag just to enter and that isn't even counting the other expenses. It would be nice but I doubt it will happen.

There is much more to Illinois than Chicago dang it!!!!!   Sorry, hate it when people hear Illinois and think everyone is from Chi-town....

Great Illini had a full iron distance triathlon (down state) no interest, they drop it and just have the half distance.

Well I am not sure where you are at but if it is south then Louisville is perfect. If from the west side then Madison is still pretty good. Sorry but still works.

I am hoping you are right and I am able to get in to Madison.  I just thought with the size of IL we should be able to support an ironman race.  No biggie, just thinking outloud again.....

Too bad nobody did Great Illini. I did the half last year and it was a blast. I slept in the back of the rental SUV!

Rev3 is adding a full in Sandusky, Ohio next year - Sept. 12. Sandusky is Cedar Point Amusement Park - they open the park just for participants, family, friends, etc. Sandusky is about the same distance as Louisville.

Even just thinking about doing rollercoasters after finishing an irondistance makes me sick to my stomach
