Subject: College Football Related Question...

Okay - so I went to the Michigan game yesterday (and it was awesome!) and it was my first college ball game ... I had a great time and it will definitely not be my last!

But I have a really silly question - I want to know about the cheerleaders. There seemed to be two groups - one with the traditional "fancy" uniforms ... and then there was another group on the other side in more of a t-shirt and shorts outfit.

What's the difference?

I don't know about how the Wolverines do it, but here at Penn State, we have two different squads on and around the field at different times. There's the cheerleading squad and the dance team. Could you have been seeing the dance team? One way to tell is that the dance team does not do stunts like basket-tosses, etc.

Yeah, as already mentioned, most schools have a dance squad / color guard on the field as well. Some also have an "A" and "B" squad of cheerleaders - with only those making the A squad getting to cheer at Basketball games.
