Subject: RE: Homemade Lara Bar's Batlou - 2009-09-09 8:40 AM Not sure where I saw this post, perhaps here are on another health site. Either way, someone pointed out a website that had recipes for homemade Lara Bars. Just wanted to say thanks! These things are great and a much better choice than the labratory chemical filled crap most of the other energy bars are made from. http://enlightenedcooking.blogspot.com/2008/02/home-made-lara-bars-energy-bars-part-3.htmlI have only made the apple pie one (2 parts dried apples, 1 part roasted almonds and cinamon ) and my first attempt they were a little dry but once refridgerated they firmed up and stayed together pretty good. Need to work on the presentation a little though, my kids pointed out they look a little like something else I won't mention. Cool! Except Larabars don't have any "labratory chemical filled crap" in them (maybe you meant the "other" bars ) The only ingredients are fruit and nuts. Mostly raw, unprocessed, vegan, gluten free, etc. so even if you buy them in the store they are filled with good ingredients. How much did it cost to make them at home, as opposed to buying in the store? |
