Went to the doc today, he told me that besides having a metal plate and 8 screws in my shoulder, I'm as good as I ever was! Ready to go back to running and swimming (although I've enjoyed my weeks as a pure cyclist)

Sorry, just excited! Healed up in under the 6weeks too! Booya

Welcome back.

Ease into things though, not worth setting yourself back by pushing to hard too soon.

Welcome back. I'm 2 weeks off of my accident (nothing broken just deep bruising) and intend to do a full set of workouts this week (last week I did every discipline once as a simple system check but didn't push hard). I get my bike back tomorrow.

Mentally I found it hard to stay calm and let my body heal. Going from 10 hours a week of training to 0 in the course of 1 crash was harder than I thought. I'm also having a bit of a hard time keeping the accident from replaying in my head, although today's run offered some blissful mental solitude. Hope it all goes well for you!

Welcome back
Don't push it. Listen to your doctor and your body, not the ego.

Welcome back! Heh, I bet your scar is gonna turn some funky colors during exercise while it continues to heal up. Mine turn all purple and orange and...oh, wait...you probably have *normal* circulation...

Anywho, enjoy easing back in to things. Know you are bucking hard to get out there right now, but it is worth it to take a few steps backwards, especially going in to winter. How many people get a complete restart like this?! Enjoy!

Nice to have you back, as everyone says - baby steps. 6-12 weeks post-op is when the fibronectin that heals your muscles is at its most active so be careful not to overdo it and get scar tissue build up.  have fun showing off the scar at the pool.

Nice...enjoy it!  I had a follow up with my surgeon yesterday and he wanted to be sure I wasn't riding my bike, but he was pretty anti-skinny tired bikes to start with.  I was glad when he got distracted so I didn't have to lie to him.  13.5 weeks out and *most* of my arm is starting to heal

50miler bike ride Saturday went great!

Went on my first run since Forever ago last night... (doctor said OK)

Wow, 3 miles (at a sweet 9min/mi pace) and I was DYING. Just stop running a month and watch all those gains go out the window!

Still haven't been back to the pool. Saturday we'll see how bad that is haha
