Swim
Comments: Not bad...If I actually trained for the swim, I could have been 2-3 minutes faster. What would you do differently?: Train more. Navigate better. I was all over the place. Transition 1
Comments: Not a bad transition BUT my suit was stuck on my right ankle. This was partly due to being a bit tired. Sat down instead of getting it off while standing. What would you do differently?: Get wetsuit off faster. Bike
Comments: Decent bike. Goal was sub 1:30. Close What would you do differently?: NEED TO TRAIN MORE ON THE BIKE!!! This is the area I need most improvement on. No question. I am not good on the bike...yet. Need more time in the saddle. Transition 2
Comments: Couldn't find my rack. Since I was the last swim wave, most of the bikes were already back in transition and I had trouble finding mine. Went to the correct rack and thought it was wrong. Ran to the next, saw my bag at the other one and went back. I have no idea why I had so much trouble, but I did. Cost me at least a minute. What would you do differently?: Know my transition area better! Also, get yankz or elastic laces to save some time. Run
Comments: The run was TOUGH. Hills were brutal. What would you do differently?: Train more. MORE BRICKS. At one point on the run, my quad was really tightening so at a water station, decided to stretch quad. Picked ankle up and hamstring immediately cramped. That sucked. Post race
Warm down: Looked around for finishers medal. They misplaced a box of them so a bunch of us in the back didn't get one. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Didn't train nearly enough for this. Only got serious about a month out if that. Disappointed in my prep for this. Bike is my weak link for sure. I can do so much better if I just apply myself in my training. A lot more biking outside and much less on the trainer. My goal is to drop 20 minutes for this race next year. Event comments: Great race. Tons of volunteers and couldn't have been run better (except for the lost medals). Very tough course. Definitely an accomplishment for anyone to finish this one. My entire lower body is sore today. Last updated: 2005-05-23 12:00 AM

Breakfast - Vanilla Myoplex w/6oz pineapple juice. Coffee. Sipped on Gatorade. Didn't realize they closed the transition area so I rushed to set everything up. I still had over an hour until my wave started so I was disappointed I didn't quite have the time to setup my area.
Watched the swim finish for about 30 minutes while I waited for my wave. Walked to swim start. About 20 minutes before start.
