Subject: RE: Who is doing Mooseman in NH next weekend? I'll be doing the 1/4 on Saturday also. I'm lucky enough to have a brother in law with a place right on the lake, about a mile or two from Wellington. We are heading down on Tuesday, so I get to have all week to do some OW swimming, ride the course, etc. The long range forecast had been looking good, but now says rain for the 4th, but who knows? I did not do Granite Ledges, but I know Newfound pretty well, since my grandmother lived there and I spent a lot of summers there growing up. There are some pretty decent hills earlier on in the bike course, as you come around the north end of the lake and back up to Rte. 3A. Most of the rest shouldn't be too bad. The water should be warming up, should be ok with a wetsuit. I keep remembering the fact that I used to go swimming in Mid-May with no wetsuit - I don't know how I did it. As far as the run goes, if I'm picturing that area correctly, there shouldn't be any major hills. Should be a great event. I hear that Keith Jordan/Endorfun sports put on a great race and take really good care of the athletes. -Rob |
