  • 03m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

Waves of 50, on the way out I was getting hit and battered from all around. So that must mean I wasn't at the back. But once again I got spooked in the water and got a bit panicky at the turn for home. So I held on to the rubber ducky. Then as I swan for shore i got way off course and needed the lifeguards help to get me back on course. So I suppose for me thats an average swim
What would you do differently?:

I think I need more lake swimming parctice. Some prescription goggles so I can see where I'm going clearly would also be handy.
Transition 1

Comments:

Long way from the lake to T1. Took a Gu before getting on the bike
Also a steep hill out of T1 to get on to the main road
What would you do differently?:

I was pretty pleased. That was the first time i'd taken off the wetsuit in anger so to speak

Comments:

Always happy on the bike. It will be nice to get my new bike this week and compare those times to my old ones.
Bike course did share the road with the run courser so things were a bit hectic in places

Awesome job, Ian! Congrats! (I think you have your overall rank at the top of the report transposed a bit, by the way. )

That swim was a challenge, no doubt. Between the waves and the sheer number of swimmers, that last stretch toward shore was tough going! Good for you for not giving in to the panic. You'll have it all set with no problem next year!

Thanks for the encouragement on the run! See you in Nevis!

Way to go! This was a fun race.

We should get the BTers together in Nevis. This is my home course and I can arrange a meeting place at the school during check in the evening prior to the race.
