How fast do you swim 100 yards?

Hmm, not quite sure as I've never swam in an pool measured in yards. I can consistently swim 1:30 for 100m. If I was racing and diving off the blocks it might be more like 1:15-1:20 so that's what I put for my vote.

i would say 1:26-1:30, but that's only a guess since usually I go all out for only 50's... I usually do 100 repeats on the 1:50, so I dunno, really, I am totally making this up. Mighjt have to go try tomorrow!

About 2 weeks ago I was in the pool and starting from the wall using a clock I noticed :58 seconds.

Swimming is the easy part for me, I will do 1000yd time trials is just under 13 min, for an all out 100yd off blocks ~1:00 flat maybe slightly faster.

I can do it in about 1:16-1:20... for 100 yards. But for the triathlons I'm doing this year (some sprints, 2 olys, 2 Halfs, 1 IM), I'm clocking in around 1:40-1:50 just to pace myself. I will probably look to drop that to maybe 1:35 but for the IM, i'm definately going to be happy going as slow as 1:50 per 100 so I can save my gas for the bike/run.

If I was to do a 100 yd race, and nothing else, I could go 57 or 58 seconds.  I look at it this way, I'm swimming 850, or 1600 yds in a race, and I could never hold that pace. 

Back in the day, I think my best time was around 47.5. But I do have a 50.7 to my credit from masters nationals a few years ago.
