Subject: RE: Giving it a Tri Hi Kirstin...welcome to the group! And that's from a former high school swimmer and springboard diver too. But geez I think that was about a hundred years ago! I do a lot of indoor training too in the cold New England winter months, and it basically revolves around doing alternate stints on the treadmill and bike trainer, going from one to the other and back again. Good for experiencing what you'll go through during a race. I try to play games on the equipment to get relief from the boredom, like intervals on both bike and treadmill, or tilting the treadmill and doing some simulated hills. 3 times per week I also add in light to moderate weight training, mostly upper body, arms, shoulders, etc., since I no longer have access to a pool, I'm just trying to keep my strength for when I can resume outdoor swimming.
Hope some of this helps, but ask plenty of questions as there's lots of great people here...you'll enjoy this BBS.
