The reall difference in my diet is two fold. 1. Skip the fries and soda. The are ugly calories. #2. Turn my back on the junk food. We keep a container in the fridge with cleaned carrots in it. In the past when I was hungry I would grab some junk food (mostly chips). Now I grab a handfull of carrots. It is amazing as it seems to do the trick. Of course I still have about 20 pounds to drop!
Great ideas! Here are a couple of mine that have helped....
1. If you feel hungry, instead drink a full glass of water and wait 20 minutes. Many times our bodies confuse hunger with thirst. If you are still hungry 20 minutes later, then have a small, healthy snack.
2. Eat 5-6 smaller meals per day. This really can't be said enough. I used to "save up" all my food for dinner, and chow down then. I actually gained weight this way, because my body thought I was starving, so it saved fat reserves.
3. If you have a major ice cream craving like I do most of the time, try Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. They are already portion controlled for you, are low in fat, and not too bad on calories. I always keep them stocked in the fridge.
Congrats on your weight loss, keep it up! |
