My mom had a job like that, kinda.
She was a librarian for an ITT "campus".  At an ITT, no one uses the libraries.  The only reason they had to hire someone was that Maryland law said all higher ed locations had to have a librarian on staff.

The only reason she lasted 1 year and 1 day was that she would have had to pay back the relocation they paid her if she left before 1 year.

Come to think of it, my dad had a similar job, but not nearly as mind-numbing.  He's move checks and receipts from one department to another and to banks.  Then he'd hang out in his warehouse for the last 6 hours of his day reading.  Did that for almost 30 years.  And yes, he was union

Depends... Could I have TV (with satellite), Wii, and internet with access to BT and FB?  How about my bike trainer?  With the right conditions, I'd take it.

I think the boredom would be mind-numbing.

However, in modern-day, it would be an ideal job for someone enrolled in online school.

I had a job years ago where they refused to give me enough work.  I'd finish my project load in about an hour and ask for more.  They had nothing.  And they paid me VERY well.

I can attest to the fact that given enough free time you WILL get bored with the internet.  This was back when I smoked.  I think I went up to a pack and a half a day just becuase of the boredom.

Horrid.

Like another poster said, I have a job where I will go long stretches with NOTHING to do. I haven't had a single project or scrap of anything to do since April 4. I mean LITERALLY nothing. That is not hyperbole.

I am SO bored. The only reason I am still here is A) I have my own office B) good benefits C) Reasonably flexible schedule so I can go to the gym at lunch D) I can wear whatever I want.

Everyone says, "Gee, I'd love to get paid to sit around and do nothing all day." But the truth is, doing nothing is REALLY farking boring--and demoralizing, to boot.

I need way more info; pay rate, benefits, hours, location, commute, amenities, etc.

If it pays six figures, I can walk there from home, can surf the web while at work, can get out a stretch my legs occasionally, have a nice view of the waterway, and I get 3 weeks paid vacation I might consider it.
Oh, and full paid health, vision and dental for the family. And a pension. And 401K with 100% match up to the max allowable.
