Expert 1099 Orlando, FL | Subject: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Good morning/afternoon/evening in10tions! Just starting us off with a new post here for week 1 - our other one was getting way too long! Let us know how it's going for you today....I am up early and dressed in my workout gear with swimsuit in the pack. I'll drop off DS at school and head to the Y for swim and run, unless it stays cool enough in which case I'll run outside first, then swim. I'M MOTIVATED! kausnfxx - I have sent an email to Renee asking if we can add you to our team. Ten people sounds perfect for us, don't you think? And you add to our international status. Besides, it's all about meeting goals, not cumulative miles or yards or metres, so the more the merrier! Chris - good idea about adding folks to our profile. Now I'll just have to go figure out how to do that! Thanks for adding the pledge - that's really generous! I'm also going to try to figure out how to get my spreadsheet to make that special 'L' sign for your pledge! Ok, will be back in a minute to post our team chart... Annabanana |

Expert 1099 Orlando, FL | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Here's our team table so far! I'll add kausnfxx when I get official word from Renee that it's ok to do so. I put us in userid alphabetical order in case you were wondering! Please check over your goals and make sure I have them set correctly. This is the last chance before they are submitted to Renee for the Challenge! - Thanks! AB

Member 46 Fort Collins | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 In your training log, go to the control pannel (its icon of the little window with a gear on it right next to the calendar on your blog page). If you scroll it should have places to link to up to 30 (or so, I forget) friends, and also places to put goals and such. Hopefully I'll have the $10 so you guys won't have to donate for me. I should, if nothing tragic happens in the finance area this month. But I'm doing my part to make sure we win. Sweet. Off to leave all you guys some inspirations. |

Expert 1099 Orlando, FL | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Yay Brent! What a great team you guys are - here I am in toddler land, and get back online to find all sorts of personal messages on my log - my heart is so happy and it really DOES help me feel MOTIVATED to work out - nothing like a team counting on you, huh? Soooo, tomorrow morning during my computer time, I will learn how to leave those personal messages! Now I'm off to eat some Chipotle and head to my women's group - DH gets the little one tonight and boy is he one tired puppy! Does anyone else climb out of the pool ready to eat a giant burger and fries? I swear, I can run a half marathon and not be as hungry as a half hour in the pool makes me..... Annabanana - enough rambling already! |

Member 46 Fort Collins | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Sweet. Just finished my workout for today. I actually haven't left the gym yet, I'm using their computers because my own doesn't have internet yet. And dang it, it won't let me read the comments people left me. Guess I'll be forced to go to the library tonight. And I might actually have to *gasp* study. I much prefer training. |

Veteran 1108 Perth, Oz | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 oops I forgot to ask, I will probably be doing a bit of water running, just like everyone has suggested. Should log that as swimming or running,. If I can log it as running that will help me get to my running goal a little less painfully. |

26 | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Hey all, thanks for all the inspiration in my logs. This is my first challenge and just wanted to say you all rock!!! We are so going to crush those other teams. I got my ride and run in today after I woke up today. My first real brick session, I rode 12 miles and ran 3 miles. It felt good after about ten minutes. Tomorrow is swimming, nice!! |

Expert 1099 Orlando, FL | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Almost forgot to stop in here and post after all my hello's on the logs - what a cool feature! This site really rocks...time for me to pony up and be a paid member I think. Splerph, I'd count pool running as running *minutes* as long as you do it with running form (not paddling around or anything). FWIW, I heard a speaker once who started the USAFit marathon training program. He was an incredible endurance athlete who ran ultramarathons. But he had some degenerative hip thing, and one had already been replaced. He did 95% of his ultra training with pool running, and was able to do a 100mile race that way, and be pretty competitive! Where there's a will, there's a way. As for me, I had on the bike shorts this morning, but stopped at a friend to help her with her computer. That took a little longer than expected, but thanks to you all and your encouragement and my own guilty self, I still hopped on the bike for 30 minutes. Normally I would have bagged it. And now I'm 30 minutes closer to goal! Now to grab some lunch before my swim stroke clinic -errrrrr - DS's swim lesson! AB |

Veteran 200 san francisco, ca | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 in response to some of the messages in my logs... sadly, the ocean at santa cruz is not warm. some do venture in without a wetsuit, but i wouldn't do it. water is probably 60 deg F. *and* it's not clear blue like you see in pictures of the ocean near hawaii or mexico. still, i'm happy to be close to the ocean. the beach is so calming. go team! everyone's doing awesome! kelly |

Yep I've also been very big on encouraging other people to water running. Now I've got to take my own advice hehe! It really is a good workout its just not the most exciting way to spend your time. although there are quite alot of people that do it at my pools so maybe I'll have to find someone to chat to while i'm doing it. (or maybe a cute guy to follow up and down the pool lol) Good on you for getting a ride in!! I think the challenge is a great way to encourge us all to get out there and do just that little bit more that we might normally just pass on. |

Member 46 Fort Collins | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Woo hoo!! Week 1 is almost over! Is everyone 1/4 of the way to reaching their goals? I am right on schedule, myself. Glad to hear Chris Tree wasn't in that mess in London. Sheesh. Just went around and hit everyone with some encouragement. A couple of them didn't want to post, but I'll have to go back around and check if they did later. I'm already late. Have a great day guys! PS: I bless your pool running with scads of cute boys and you as the only girl. |

Expert 1099 Orlando, FL | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Hey! Great minds think alike! I was just going to post to remind everyone that we should be at 25% by the end of Sunday! On Sunday, you'll need to post or pm me with your totals to date. Chris - in my chart I put everyone's names as they are in their profiles...hope that helps. Now for something REALLY fun (well, if you're a geek like me). www.sueandpaul.com/gmapPedometer This is a link to a site that uses google maps (a new, cool tool) to let you map out your running routes and see the mileage. I don't know if it has the whole world, but I was at least able to poke around the UK, and the US is on there. I went to the satellite photo of my house and mapped my 4 mile route from out of my driveway and along all the streets. It's so fun you may never have time to run again! (ok, I am sure I am the most geeky, but even google maps is fun to play around with for most everyone) Today I did my 90 minute power yoga and I am whoooped....it is so good for balancing things all out, tho'. Too bad I can't log yoga minutes for the challenge! Chris - don't you have a race this weekend? If so - we'll be rooting for you! And don't forget to count your race in your totals! Annabanana (aka Ann - isn't annabanana more fun?) |

Expert 1099 Orlando, FL | Subject: RE: Good In-10-tions - Week 1 Hey Chris! Thanks for fixing that link for me - apparently with the rich text editor enabled I can't type straight html, but I need the editor to put our tables in....ahhhh, the plight of the techno... I'm in Orlando, FL, and it looks like Dennis won't bring us much more than a really crappy stormy weekend. Last year we were just, well, beat up. Charley hit us over 100mph and took down 25 trees in my yard alone. And we were lucky - we only had a small hole in the roof and screens out of our pool enclosure and our house stood up strongly. Then came Jeanne and oh heck, I can't even remember them all, but we had to pack in and lock down 3 times, almost 4 but Ivan missed us. It's mostly a big stressful pain in the patootey. Gotta get batteries and gas in the car and water and food, and fight the boredom and claustrophobia. Not to mention it can put a real dent in the training. Heck, maybe I'll add my bike and trainer to our hurricane supply list to bring into the inner sanctum! Enough rambling about that - I'm just having flashbacks to last year - today is actually a beautiful sunny day and the breeze is gently blowing. But I will say some prayers for Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica and the FL Keys. This Dennis is a big one! Annabanana (btw, I like captain banana too!) |
