He's decided he's not doing it next year, but said he'll come pace me... so it's on my radar for next year. We'll see if I can beat his time... but that's one hell of a time to try to beat. Sub-24???? Man, he did rock it indeed! Does he live at altitude? That's an amazing result even without the run being at altitude. Strong work on his part! not just sub-24, but sub-23. It definitely is an incredible time, whether it's your first or 5th time at that race. Like I said... he set the bar pretty high if/when I attempt it. I completely understand when he said the accomplished everything plus some he set out to do and doesn't think he could do much more (if anything ) beyond his performance this weekend. The weather turned out to be perfect for the race too. But just being there definitely inspires you. His performance also shows how taking it easy early on pays huge dividends in the end. Something a lot of people have trouble with in triathlons when it comes to the bike portion. |
