How should I log pool running?  I'm currently out of comission for regular running, but I was unsure how to log pool running since there is no distance involved...

I'd log it like any other cardio time (aerobics/stairmaster, etc). Make sure when you pool run, either suspended or rebounding, you resist the temptation to lean forward-makes it too easy and reduces the difficulty. Also, if using heartrate training in water, subtract 17bpm from your normal (land) max HR to find your adjusted working heart rate for water. Just a few tips, hope I'm not butting in where not wanted, just loooooove water training.

Good luck and happy recovery.

I tried an open-water version of this at the lake! It is great for when I need to keep a closer eye on my kids. I did a half-mile in 17 minutes, but I think I was leaning forward. I will have to work on technique! I logged it as aqua-aerobics with time only.

Will this help my running on dry land?

I logged the time under running and then made a guess about how far I would have run at that activity level and logged the distance I guessed.

My question about water running is whether it's better to be in waist deep, chest deep, or over-the-head water.   I'm rehabbing a hip.

I bought an 'aqua jogger" or something like that. Basically, it is a flotation belt that fits around your waist. Then you 'run' in water deep enough to keep your feet off of the bottom.
