If it is cool enough, I have a set of Rinoskins ( http://www.rynoskin.com/) THis is basically a very tightly woven cloth that fits very tightly. Ticks, chiggers etc can't bite through it (mosquitoes can! ) nor crawl under it. They have worked very well for me and I don't have to spray so much of that poison. As mentioned above. It is very important to do a total body check afterwards, or every 24 hours. The ticks that carry Lyme disease are the little ones (size of a printed "period" at the end of a sentence ). For some reason it takes >24 hours for the disease to be transmitted from tick to you. So if you get the tick off in that time, the likelihood of getting Lyme's is very low.
