So I just noticed that the challengers this month did not have their own team thread set up so I thought I'd get it rolling for you guys.  From the depths of my ingenious mind I creatively named you Team BT (as this was set up as a ghoulies vs. everyone sort of challenge).  If you have something else you'd like to be called let me know.

So come on in and introduce yourselves.  Stop on by throughout the month to encourage each other, discuss your workouts and progress, and smack talk the ghoulie team behind our backs (or you can stop by our thread to do the same, as many of us will likely be here to rabble rouse as well)

If you haven't done so already, get your goals up on the spreadsheet.  It can be found here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0An7ZkKfHG1L1dGV0NWRUaXVtME56QWN6MkN2VTd2TVE&hl=en#gid=0

Remember to update throughout the month as well!  Good luck to everyone and most of all, have fun this month!

Hi Neal and Bill!

You know me Tongue out  for the sake of those who have yet to join the tread I'm Judi.  I am rehabbing a rather stubborn torn gastrocs and am allowed to swim and do upper body strength training, core work, PT and pilates.  I am bored out of my mind with those things but we have at least 2 more weeks of the chlorine play pen (keep me away from dangerous objects, I may do bodily harm if I have to think about that statement)

Hi!

I'm Melissa. I just finished my first season of tri, which consisted of training all summer and completing one sprint distance triathlon in September. I plan to compete in more triathlons and runs next year and am working to improve my fitness during off season. I have only been training aerobically regularly since the start of April so I still have work to do, but am steadily building my foundation. I'm from Ontario Canada and am a Kinesiologist/High School Teacher/Personal Trainer.

Nice to meet all of you! Now let's kick some Ghoulie @$$!

Hi everyone!

I'm Rachel and I'm currently in Australia so my days and tri season are opposite to most peoples on here.

I have only one sprint tri to my name, from the end of last season, but plenty of straight running races and a few bike races too. I put off tri for so long because I hate hate HATE swimming, but I just got myself a swim coach and I'm hoping for decent improvements this season. Next tri planned for start of December and we will see where it goes from there....
Oh, also tri is my second sport right now, I train and fight muay thai (next fight in 2 weeks time) so that keeps me fit but fitting all my training in takes a lot of scheduling and a patient husband.

Happy Friday Challengers - I'm Lisa and I'm a sad sad Red Sox fan here in Boston.  Now that our season is OFFICIALLY over I have to get back to training to keep my mind of my broken heart.  It was an injury filled year for my boys.... and I know LOTS of us know how that feels.

As for me this was my 3rd year  of Tri-ing - and my first year of 13.1 (2).  My winter goal is to beat my first 13.1 by ALOT (that race is in Feb so I have lots of time to procrastinate - I mean TRAIN)

Unfortunately I fall into the 'no training on Friday' category but I did train 4 straight days this week and thats a major milestone - and I have a 5k run/obstacle course race tomorrow so I'm 'resting' for that!

Let's scare the pants off of the Ghoulies!!!!

Good morning!!  We're off to a WET start to October here...  as I type I have to watch for my waterlogged ceiling tile to come crashing down on me here at work.  At least it's Friday!!  Friday is usually a rest day for me too but that's more to rest my legs than anything else.  So I still plan on getting in my first strength/core session today.

Oh yeah...  I should probably introduce myself, huh?  I'm Rhoda, been doing tris for a few years, mostly got started with a friend to try to lose baby weight.  I've now tried going from sprints to Olys, not all that successfully - I finished but it wasn't pretty.  I'll worry about that in the spring.  Now I just need some motivation to maintai some level of fitness throughout the winter and not gain 20 lbs!

Poke a hole in the middle of the tile if it's swelling to relieve the pressure and dump the water in a bucket. We had a problem with a leaky roof at an old job and it is not fun when they break through on their own. You'd be surprised how much water they can collect before the bust.

I'm doing my planks later today!

The tile has now completely disintegrated...  which isn't all that bad.  My gargage can is catching the drips and I'm just hoping for no more complete downpours.  At least my computer is still functional!  I would be lost all day without internet access...  Wink
