ALL PHOTOS FOR THIS WEEKS CONTEST MUST BE TAKEN THIS WEEK, BY YOU...

Per Peby's request, this weeks contest is black and white. This is a wide open one so have fun and good luck.

If anyone for some reason cannot convert to black and white, let me know and i can do that

Technically it doesn't HAVE to be in B & W...that's the theme and it could be interpreted however??!?!?

I thought about the cookie... then about things that would look good as a black and white photo... then about the cookie... then about how black and white could mean more than just a black and white photo.

And then the cookie again.

Nice pic! I went out tonight taking photos. Since my wife came along for the ride I took her out for a drink after. At the bar I walked into the restroom and the floor was checkered with the walls black, urinals white. It would have made a great contrasting photo but wasn't so sure what they would think of me dragging my tripod into the bathroom.. I opted not to take the photo.

Typical of any online forum I was wondering who would quote that out of context. Tannlean, funny it was a sushi place. Might try a bar shot tonight after work.

Stopped on the way home from work today.

ISO: 200

Shutter:  1/160s

Aperture: f5.6

Focal length: 30mm

White Balance:  Automatic

Circular Polarizer filter, manual focus, taken in RAW format

Adjusted the white balance with UFRaw.  IN GIMP I added some contrast, adjusted the level, desaturated to black and white, and saved to .jpeg format.

A black and white image of a situation that most people see as black and white.

This is actually two 35mm images shot on Ilford film that have been hand processed, and then scanned with a film scanner and stitched together using a Wacom tablet. The printed version of this is on inkjet paper.

** EDIT** On second thought, I changed the image I used. The first image has a word which many people find objectionable, aside from some sectarian language. I posted my second choice. If you want to see the other one, it can be found on my flikr here http://www.flickr.com/photos/traceyberg/2928605863/.

How can I post a picture without having to resize so much that it looks like crap?  How do you post them without using the attachment feature?

If you are using photoshop I can walk you through the re-size procedure, other wise you're welcome to send the photo to me and I could do it for you if you like.

I just resize the image in GIMP.  Upload them to an album here at BT, right click the image, copy image location, in your post you lick on the little tree up in the message tool bar, then paste the image location.
