Route History problems

I was thumbing through my route history trying to see how I've been doing over time, and noticed a good bit of my runs aren't tied to my routes, and generally I set that when logging them.

Could it be that the mapped route is different than the actual run route and I'm modifying the distance (though selecting the route), which is nulling the link? Or am I really just missing that many routes to my runs?
