Donkey Man  - May 30th 2011 (as seen on The Distance)

Year #6!   This training day will be another great time.  I am open to suggestions

Format:

Start around 8:30am (We can always hope)

Here are the courses - NOTE:  there is an extra loop with a big hill on the Big Carrot bike course.  It is optional, and It is not easy!

**You will need to Zoom Out on these and drag the map to see the whole course.

Everything would be out and back, just the Big carrot goes farther than the Little Carrot.  Hopefully this will result in less lost people and more people seeing each other.

There is no Road support/SAG vehicle, so bring your cell phone.  Hopefully I can bribe someone to watch the water on the kayak again, the water will be COLD and last year we did need some help.  But I am thinking of keeping it closer to shore to keep everyone safe.  After I swim in May I will plot a course.

Drafting is legal - I actually encourage people to stay together for safety.  The course above should be a little better in terms of traffic but may change after the spring rides.  This is pending road construction and pea gravel

I will keep updating and bumping this thread as we move into Spring.  I will Also have it up on my Training Log.

**Remember this is a training day and the course is not closed.  As a result there is no entry fee, we just hope you can bring food to share. Last year we had just over 30.  I have sponsorship from Hammer for 30 goodie bags.  This will be open to Donkeys and Previous Trainees first.  The limit will be 30 as a hard cap.

Chris,  as usual I am in, wouldn't miss it....... 

I just can't wait to get hammered in to the ground by you on the bike and then have DJ come cruising by me later on the run like he hasn't even started to work yet.  It has become an early season tradition!  Only this year I will already have a race under my belt...so no usual 3 month long Donkey Man taper for me!  Foot in mouth  

Just need to make sure that Scott (sgoehner) and Jerry (JBougher) are there so I have others to form a paceline with to keep up with you.

Mason from the last two years and I will be in again!!!  and if the course is better marked this year (as in, down low so us short guys can see the marks..........) then i wont get lost!!!  deal?? k, good!

gonna work on discount coupons for Emery's again as well as Pro Performance Outfitters and also thinking of hitting up kwik trip for some choco milk donations!!

I don't think I am going to make it this year.  We have a wedding in Iowa that weekend, so unless I can get out of having to go to that I will not be making it.  I will check with the Mrs. however as I really don't want to go to Iowa.

I believe Craig and I will be there.  Going to try to fit it all in.  My oldest daughter graduates from high school on that saturday...her party is on sunday.  It will also be the first race that Craig and I do as a married couple...

Dare I remind Davey that most of the markings were 18 INCHES from the ground or written on the road

I am hoping to have a few more signs on the turns this year, but going to stay with the same courses so should be easy to remember

There are no real requirements - if you only want ot Aqua bike - feel free!  As for the kiddos - I will be looking into having some sitters if possible

I went down in a heap biking a wk ago Sunday and collar bone is broken. Your event will be right around the 6 wk point. So I will have to advise as to where I'm at.
