Comments: A front passed through just before race time. That and the setting of the sun lowered tempuratures from the high 90's. It was still pretty hot. Once again, there were a lot of walkers starting at the front so the first 1/4 mile required lots of dodging. I fell in behind some "inspiration" moving at about an 8m/m pace and stayed with her for the first mile or so. I eased my pace a little in the 2nd mile, and then worked to pick it up again in the 3rd. I sprinted the last 100 yards all out. What would you do differently?: Besides more training, nothing. I ran this race as well as I could have. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, ate a banana. What limited your ability to perform faster: Inconsistent training this month. Last updated: 2005-08-22 12:00 AM

I took my kids to the "Fastest Kid In Town" race - a series of 40m sprints by age. They were a little disappointed not to win their heats, but some time on the big inflatable slide improved their spirits.
Stretching, walking.
